Thesis

I believe that technology has had more of a negative effect on society thus causing childhood obesity because humans are being taught with technology that everything can be done easily without a lift of a finger.

Annotated Bibliography (Revised)

Rahman Tamanna, Rachel A. Cushing, and Richard J. Jackson. "Contributions of Built    Environment to Childhood Obesity." Blackwell Publishing. 78. (2011): 42-57. Print
--This source that I found was in the school’s library database. This article "Contributions of Built Environment to Childhood Obesity" is about a mixture of things such as information on children nutrition, how childhood obesity is becoming relevant, and information on how lack of activity is causing obesity, and data / statistics on childhood Obesity. For example in the article it states info on how children are spending less time being active and more time in the house using technology such as watching TV and social networks.
--The reliability of this source is really efficient because this research information is a scholarly article that is up to date, has an author, and update information that you can trust, as well as the library classified this article to being a helpful source.
--I will be able to utilize this information for my paper because the necessary information I need to write my paper is in this article. For instance, why there is a lack of activity (technology usage) [could be found in article] and also the data and statistics would be helpful to state some background info in my essay as an argument and support.

"The Onion"

During this article "The Onion", what I got out of it was that in order for technology to be progress instead of peril you must go through destruction to get to paradise. For example, in the reading it stated that because of the hydrogen bonds technology for physics was enhanced. In class Professor Williams said that this cycle was a never ending cycle which is true. Because technology was created for the better no one thought about how technology would also destroy society. I believe that technology brings both peril and progress depending on who the beholder is but technology itself it neutral.

<--Will this future technology device bring progress or peril to society?

"This Is How We Live"

What I liked about the reading of, "This is How We Live" by Ellen DeGeneres I felt like she was taking the words right out of my mouth. Everyone says technology was made to help improve living, but I think that technology has help make people become more lazy. All of the easiest piece of technologies that we have now are being made even more simpler. Only the difficult things should be made easier to help life easier for us humans not everything. When DeGeneres stated, "Modern life requires hardly any physical activity" I 100% stand by her reasoning because our generation is lazy and technology is proving this point. Also hearing this statement made me think of my topic for my next essay on home technology does have a negative impact on the world and may be one of the few reasons why there is obesity.
